CENTRAL REGION: Cape Coast Library wins the award for “Best Institution Promoting Education” in Cape Coast.
On Saturday, January 21, 2023, the Ghana Library Authority, Cape Coast, won the award for “Best Institution Promoting Education” in Cape Coast.
This award was given to the library during the 3rd edition of the Osabarimba Royal Awards held in Cape Coast to recognize organizations, businesses, and individuals supporting the growth of Cape Coast.
The Ghana Library Authority, Cape Coast, was recognized by the Oguaa Traditional Council for:
1. Increasing access points from 8 to 25 (between 2017-2022)
2. Increasing book stock from 68,135 to 98,739 in (2019-2022)
3. Increasing library visits from 81,914 in 2019 to 219,864 in 2022, representing a 168% increase.
4. Organizing Central Regional Quiz Competition for 72 basic schools in the Central Region.
5. Organizing Oguaa Fetu Afahye intercommunity quiz 3 times in a row.
The Osabarimba Royal Awards is an annual Oguaa Traditional Council event initiated by Osabarimba Kwesi Atta II in partnership with the Ridge Royal Hotel to honor individuals and organizations contributing to the growth of Cape Coast.
