The Visit Cape Coast Initiative continues to gather momentum as distinguished sons and daughters of Oguaa lend their voices and support to a shared vision of repositioning Cape Coast as Ghana’s leading heritage, culture, and tourism destination.

On Thursday, 9th July 2026, a delegation from the Visit Cape Coast Initiative, led by visionary entrepreneur and business leader Mr. Kweku Etuaful, paid a courtesy call on Mr. Thomas Hughes Amissah, popularly known as Skillful, at his office at the National Investment Bank (NIB).

Mr. Thomas Hughes Amissah currently serves as the Deputy Managing Director (Support Services) of National Investment Bank PLC, bringing over 18 years of executive leadership experience in banking, auditing, financial management, governance, and risk management. A Chartered Accountant and accomplished corporate executive, he has served in senior leadership roles at institutions including the Bank of Ghana, Universal Merchant Bank, Ghacem, Olam Agri, and now NIB PLC. He also holds an MBA in Finance, a BBA in Accounting, and a Higher National Diploma in Accountancy from Cape Coast Technical University. (NIB PLC)

As one of Cape Coast’s accomplished professionals and a long-time advocate for the development of Oguaa, Mr. Amissah was taken through the vision behind the Visit Cape Coast Initiative—a long-term movement dedicated to celebrating the city’s history, culture, people, and heritage while using tourism as a catalyst for economic growth, community development, and heritage preservation.

The discussions explored the initiative’s broader ambition to reshape the narrative of Cape Coast through storytelling, strategic partnerships, cultural promotion, and practical interventions that improve the city’s tourism experience for residents and visitors alike.

Having expressed his appreciation for the vision and its long-term impact, Mr. Amissah pledged his support for the initiative and made a generous contribution of GH¢5,000 toward its implementation. His endorsement represents more than financial support; it reflects a shared belief that the future of Cape Coast depends on collective responsibility, strategic investment, and a renewed commitment to preserving and promoting the city’s unique identity.

The Visit Cape Coast Initiative extends its sincere appreciation to Mr. Thomas Hughes Amissah for his confidence in the movement and his willingness to contribute to a vision that seeks to create lasting value for Oguaa and future generations.

As the initiative continues to engage institutions, corporate organisations, traditional authorities, development partners, and individuals, every partnership brings Cape Coast one step closer to becoming a destination celebrated not only for its history but also for its innovation, culture, hospitality, and economic opportunity.
